These compact, low-speed centrifuges can accommodate tube volumes from 1.1 to 85 ml. They are ideal for tissue culture, blood separations, phenol chloroform extractions (Phase Lock Gel), cell harvesting, and standard low-speed applications. Features include a brushless induction motor; digital display of rpm, RCF, and time; rpm to RCF conversion; a separate short spin button; and audible alarm at end of run. Time and speed parameters can be locked to avoid unintentional changes from occurring. Quick acceleration and deceleration times minimize waiting, while the lid opens automatically at the end of a run for convenient, quick access.
Model 5702R also has two blue-lit program buttons for quick and easy recall of frequently used parameters, as well as two timer modes: standard and “at set rpm.” The standard mode begins counting when the start button is pressed and the “at set rpm” timer begins when the centrifuge reaches nominal speed, providing more consistent separation results.
