The ProSpore® ampoule is a self-contained biological indicator designed for validating steam sterilization of large liquid loads, recommended for 2L or more.
Each ProSpore® contains 3.5 - 3.9 mL of a spore/medium suspension sealed inside a 4 mL pharmaceutical-grade glass ampoule. Growth is indicated by turbidity and/or a color change from purple to yellow within 48 hours at 57ºC.
The flat bottom design enables the ampoule to be placed next to a container of liquid of similar size and viscosity.
