SEPA/SEPAT is an aspiration sheath that fits on the body of an electrocautery pencil, leaving the tip or blade exposed. This device is considered an accessory to an electrosurgical unit (ESU). SEPA/SEPAT eliminates surgical smoke during surgical procedures using an ESU for cutting and coagulation. This device is used in conjunction with a suction source (vacuum).
This device should not be used for microsurgeries. Single-use only. Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize. Reuse, reprocessing, or resterilization may compromise the integrity of SEPA/SEPAT and result in injury, illness, or death to the patient.
Using aseptic technique, open the packaging and remove SEPA/SEPAT, placing it in the sterile field. Follow the steps below.
Open the packaging while adhering to aseptic techniques and place SEPA/SEPAT on the sterile field. Note: The series of disposable electrocautery pencils Bovie ESP1, ESP6, and ESP are compatible with this device.
